Factory assist question - JohnB - 08-08-2018

Sent in my deposit for a factory assist XET build. Trying to get down there Jan-Feb time frame. I was curious on where you guys stayed while you were down in Trenton?

I'm currently in the middle of my FA build, and I took my travel trailer to the site to live in, and leave it there and go back and forth. Heading back down in a couple weeks to finish up.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you have, but can't help with local accomodations.

John,

There are times when a small rental apartment is not occupied that is on the factory grounds. Ask Dwight he may be able to help.

I like the trailer/camper idea. Is there a full hook up by chance ?

Yes, there is. I'm using it right now. There are several outlets/hydrants, but only one dump station.

What do they charge for the use of their 'love shack?'

How is the Factory Assist working out ? Can you work at a good pace ? Are there many interruptions? Are you forced to stop work or can you work late into the evening ? Are parts availability a concern ? What about tools, torque wrenches, drill and drill bits, digit levels, hole patterns, good diagrams (the ones in my build manual are very poor, poor!)
Thanks, Will (build number 1335, XET, Should have been painted by now.)
PS I hope I did this right !

It is working great.  They have everything, including jigs and templates that you would other wise have to make, and all the tools and machines.  I worked 8-5 daily, and sometimes late if I had a thing to finish.  Only had to change up a couple times waiting on a part, but there was plenty to do.  I made a point not to start something I couldn't finish that day.  Looks like it will be a total of 5 weeks for me once I get back (I should not be waiting any more parts).  I had to go back home for some other commitments, but will be back next week.

Welcome to the club

Dick,

I believe it took me 10 weeks over 10 months (I was going to school at the time). Like you said everything is there. The jigs really helped speed things along. I worked a few nights till 9. It was such a great time I would love to build another one!
