Believe me, if I could make a practical electric helicopter I would do so in a heart beat. Everything about electric drive is better except one. If batteries could hold even 1/4 the amount of power that gasoline can we would never have seen a gas powered car or a gas powered much of anything. But since batteries still have a ways to go to compete with the energy density of gasoline we are still stuck with gas power. I've already dabbled in electric power and have motors in house ready to go if we ever get batteries that can give more that 15 minutes of flight. But until then an electric powered helicopter won't be much more than a novelty like this one. But its coming, I read about battery advances almost every day on the tech sites I follow. Lithium air and Lithium sulfur are getting closer to reality all the time.

I know you had mentioned having motors available, but I think this one might be very promising.

I think the motor may fit in the desired performance range but I likewise have yet to find batteries that might work.
